McClelland Consulting Engineers is looking for a full-time Structural Engineer to join our team in either Fayetteville, AR or Fort Smith, AR. This job operates in a professional engineering office. This position will be responsible for structural engineering projects across Arkansas and Eastern Oklahoma. As a licensed member of the team, you will be spearheading the design of a wide variety of structural engineering projects; from water/wastewater, to architectural structural, to industrial facility projects. You will coordinate with internal team members and external clients. As a member of the structural team, you will serve in a key position on our team and will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects with an experienced design team while also gaining valuable knowledge from professional engineers.
Essential Functions:
•Develop construction documents for structural projects using AutoCAD and Revit.
•Prepare calculation submittal packages to submit to the Owner or Client, when requested.
•Prepare cost estimates.
•Coordinate with the project team to develop and complete projects on time and on budget
•Complete plan review comments from internal quality control process and from the agency review process.
•Prepare written communications and reports.
•Review and implement municipal codes, geotechnical reports, as well as State and Federal Codes to ensure project compliance.
•Work in partnership with engineering staff to identify opportunities and constraints, assist in meetings and submittals, and complete plan revisions as needed to obtain project approval.
•Preparing for and attending meetings with clients.
•Must be willing to work in a team environment.
•Maintain a good rapport with regulatory agencies and review authorities.
Competencies:
•Knowledge of Federal and State regulations, Codes, policies, and procedures
•Thorough understanding of the current edition of the governing structural design Codes, including, but not limited to: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, AISI, and TMS.
•AutoCAD and Revit knowledge is required.
•Shall have knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of engineering.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 8 am to 5 pm and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education & Experience
•Bachelor’s degree in structural engineering or related engineering field.
•Successfully passed the NCEES Principles and Practices of Engineering (PE) exam with the Structural Depth afternoon session.
•Must be a Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arkansas.
•Must be able to obtain Professional Engineer registration in the State of Oklahoma.
•8-years of Structural design experience preferred
•Work Authorization/Security Clearance
•Must be eligible to work in the United States
